Autumn Term 2010
We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 6th September.
Teachers will greet their new classes outside the school building at the start of the school day (Year 1 and reception classes will meet their teachers at Browns as usual).
The building is looking wonderful. The children now have extended classrooms, sports changing rooms, music rooms, a kitchen, an art room, new toilets, a dance studio and a large new playground to enjoy.
The school will be open for the public to view these fantastic new improvements to the building from Monday 13th September until Friday 17th September every day after school until 5.15pm.
Keep an eye on our visual tour page, which will soon show photographs of our new classrooms and facilities
Welcome to our website
Beacon Hill School is a one form entry village primary school set in a wonderful outdoor environment with a field surrounded by woods, a pond and a willow dome. It is a caring, friendly school, which offers a broad curriculum and a range of teaching styles to enable all our children to succeed. There are visits to enhance curriculum knowledge and many visitors into school who support the children's learning.
The school is a lively learning community where individuals are valued and respected. We have high expectations of every individual and our children are given many different opportunities to develop their skills and interests. We have good links within the local area and visit our local church for harvest and Christmas services. Our children have many lunchtime and after-school clubs to choose from, and we use the local PGL centre in order to offer them different opportunities such as archery, shooting and abseiling.
We are committed to ensuring that we provide the best education possible for our children. We also encourage the children to think about the world they live in and have achieved the Eco School award and the International Schools Award. The relationship between home and school is important to us and there are many opportunities for parents and family to be involved with the school
If you would like to know more about us, please contact me and I would be delighted to show you around the school.
Best wishes,
Sue Walker
Headteacher
