PE and Sport Premium Funding
At Beacon Hill Primary, we are passionate about instilling a love for physical activity and healthy living in all our students. We achieve this through a combination of:
-
High-Quality Curriculum: Our PE program features a diverse range of activities, from team sports like netball, basketball, and cricket to tag rugby, rounders, and dance.
- Expert Coaching: We invest in specialist sports coaches to supplement the PE lessons taught by your child's class teacher. This dual approach provides focused training and keeps the sessions engaging.
-
Weekly Sessions: Every week, your child will have dedicated PE sessions ensuring consistent development and a chance to practice their skills regularly. There are also an array of after school clubs to continue to keep active.
Through this well-rounded program, our goal is to equip each student with the knowledge, motivation, and practical skills they need to lead a healthy and active life, both during their time at Crondall and beyond.
PE and Sport Premium Funding
The funding has been provided by the Government to achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools. All schools with 17 or more primary-aged pupils receive a lump sum of money plus a premium of £10 per pupil.
At Beacon Hill Primary School the Sports Premium allocation is used to promote enjoyment and engagement in sport and exercise and healthy lifestyles by:
-
Providing additional training in PE skills of teaching staff in the school; to develop the opportunities for extra-curricular clubs and to organise more intra-school competitions for the school Houses.
-
Providing additional resources for PE and school sport for pupils now and in the future.
-
The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school.
-
Improving the outdoor learning environment for extending our outdoor PE provision.
- We aim to make these changes sustainable by ensuring quality CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for the P.E lead and all staff and by working closely with our confederation of schools.
By 31 July each year, schools that receive PE and sport premium funding must publish,
- The amount of premium received
- A full breakdown of how it has been or will be spent
- The impact seen by the school on pupils’ participation and attainment in PE and sport
- How this improvement will be sustained
