- Year 1: 31 hours, 40 minutes
- Year 2 – Year 6: 32 hours, 30 minutes (32.5 hours)
Important Notes
- What’s included: These totals include all compulsory teaching time, morning breaks, and lunchtimes.
- Arrival: We recommend pupils arrive at least 5 minutes before their registration time to ensure they are ready to learn. Arriving just a few minutes late can mean your child misses the vital "morning starter" activities that set the tone for the day
- Optional Hours: Wrap-around Care (Breakfast club and After School Care Club) and after-school enrichment activities are not included in these statutory totals
Key Information
-
EYFS and Year 1 pupils finish at 3:05/3:10 pm to allow for a staggered exit and safer collection for our youngest learners, and to allow timely drop off collection at the main building.
Meeting National Expectations
You may be aware that the Department for Education encourages a 32.5-hour week. While our Year 2 – Year 6 pupils already benefit from this full schedule, our EYFS and Year 1 timings are specifically designed to support the stamina and well-being of our younger learners and to suit the demand of our split site. We continually review these hours in consultation with our Local Governing Body to ensure we are providing the best possible educational experience.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our school day run smoothly.
