Online Safety

Tips for Staying Safe Online:

The internet is a fantastic place to learn and keep in touch with your friends, but it’s important to stay safe. If you ever have any problems online, remember that help is always available at school. Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult.

If something doesn’t feel right… it probably isn’t. Always tell an adult you trust straight away.

Remember to be SMART:

  • Safe – Stay safe online. Keep new online friends strictly online.
  • Meeting – NEVER meet up with someone you don’t know from the internet. If someone you don’t know wants to be your online friend, make sure an adult knows about it.
  • Accepting – Don’t accept anything that could harm your device, like viruses or strange links.
  • Reliable – Always check your sources to make sure the information is trustworthy.
  • Tell – Always tell someone if you don’t feel safe online.
