Online Safety

Tips for staying safe online:

Always be careful when you are using the Internet. It can be an excellent way to learn and keep in touch with your real life friends, but it can also be dangerous.  Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.  Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.

If something doesn’t feel right… it probably isn’t

Tell an adult you trust straight away

Remember to be SMART:

  • Safe – be safe on the internet.  Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online.
  • Meeting – NEVER meet up!  If someone you don't know asks to be your online friend you must ensure an adult knows about it.
  • Accepting – don’t accept anything (it may be a virus).
  • Reliable – check your source.
  • Tell – Always tell someone when you don’t feel safe.
