Our curriculum is designed to provide a clear and structured programme of education, setting out key aims, subject content, and the knowledge and skills to be developed at each stage. It ensures a comprehensive and well-balanced learning experience for all children.
In Key Stages 1 and 2, our curriculum follows the National Curriculum, covering English, mathematics, science, physical education, computing, art and design, design and technology, geography, history, and music. Additionally, languages are introduced in Key Stage 2, alongside religious education and age-appropriate relationships and sex education.
For our Reception class, we adhere to the Department for Education’s statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring a strong foundation for future learning.
We are committed to providing an inclusive curriculum that is accessible to all children, regardless of their background, gender, disability, religion, or language needs. We work hard to support children with special educational needs, disabilities, exceptional abilities, or those learning English as an additional language. Our rich and challenging curriculum is designed to stretch and inspire every child, while staff carefully monitor and track progress to ensure each pupil reaches their full potential.

Through our school values, we acknowledge our responsibilities to enrich lives and promote children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We believe in lifelong learning and aim to equip our children to live life today and be ready for tomorrow.
At Beacon Hill we have designed a broad and balanced curriculum, which celebrates diversity and develops the skills and knowledge of all children. Our curriculum provides opportunities for all children to develop as independent, confident and successful learners, who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and wider society.
